20/03/2009 - SimplyBiz reduces fees and opens up training academy to non-members
SimplyBiz is offering its members discounts on monthly charges and a reduced rate on file-checking services, as well as opening up its New Model Business Academy to non-members.
Ken Davy (pictured), chairman of SimplyBiz said the cap on monthly charges for members would reduce from £630 to £500 from April and firms will also be able to take advantage of 10% discount on their monthly file checks.
Currently, members pay between £50 and £100 for a single file check, however from April they will pay £10 plus VAT for 10% of their file checks. Subsequent file checks will be priced at £25.
The service provider will also offer its members four free compliance visits per year and plans to open its New Model Business Academy to non-SimplyBiz members within three to six months.
Davy said the not-for-profit organisation, which was founded in June 2008, should benefit all advisers not just SimplyBiz members. Advisers signing up to the academy will receive access to discounted study materials.
‘I have personally fought for enhancing professionalism for the last 30 years and it seems to me that if we have a tool that will benefit the sector as a whole, the providing our own firms and advisers have had ample opportunity to take advantage, I don’t see why we should not share it on a wider basis,' said Davy.
Since inception, 2,300 of the network’s 5,000 advisers have signed up, representing 46% of its membership.
