04/06/2009 - New Model Business Academy launches to whole of market

The New Model Business Academy, the not-for-profit division of the SimplyBiz Group, has launched to the whole of the financial services sector from Wednesday 10th June. The Academy, available to SimplyBiz member firms and Compliance First clients since 1st May 2008, is a training and development tool for anyone who is currently – or is aiming to be – a financial services professional.

The New Model Business Academy primarily offers support in four areas of professional and personal development; sharing of ideas, succession planning, the ever changing model and professional qualifications.  The whole of market launch, marked by an evolution-themed event at the Natural History Museum, means that all advisers, paraplanners, trainees and administrators can now access the NMBA directly at www.nmba.info.

Steve Braidford, Managing Director of the New Model Business Academy, commented:

“We had always envisaged extending the opportunity to become a member the Academy to the whole of the financial services market, but demand meant that it was necessary to move this launch forward.  We believe that the Academy has been so well received because of the breadth of information available, its relevance to everyone involved in the profession and – perhaps most significantly in relation to other similar offerings – how easy it is to use.  Within our first year of trading, the New Model Business Academy has amassed over 2500 registered members, and we see no reason why the rest of the sector should not benefit from this essential facility.

Figures taken from New Model Business Academy surveys indicate that over 5000 exams would be taken by SimplyBiz members and Compliance First clients during 2009, statistics which caused SimplyBiz Chairman Ken Davy to call for a pause on the RDR.
