25/09/2009 - SimplyBiz Finance Director picks up second top award
Sarah Turvey, Finance Director of compliance and business support service company SimplyBiz, received the title of ‘Best Finance Director of an SME’ at the recent Yorkshire Finance Director Awards 2009 Ceremony, held on the 23rd September. This is the latest accolade received by Ms. Turvey, who was also awarded the title of ‘Young FD of the Year’ at the in the CBI/RealFD FDs' Excellence Awards 2008.
The Yorkshire Finance Director Awards were held at Rudding Park in Harrogate and were sponsored by Sewell Moorhouse, Ernst & Young and Hammonds. The event, which features awards in five key categories, aims to recognise the contribution of the region’s top finance directors and their ability to adapt to changing market conditions.
Ms. Turvey commented:
“I’m absolutely delighted to have received the award for Best Finance Director of an SME, especially given the exceptional calibre of others nominated in the category. The standard of competitor at regional events such as this reinforces my pride in working for a Yorkshire based company. Ms. Turvey has been a member of the SimplyBiz board since the company launched in 2002. She previously held roles heading up the finance team at the Huddersfield Giants Super League Club and at The Rugby Football League where she was responsible for ‘World Class Funding’. Prior to this she established and ran her own accountancy practice.
