23/07/2010 - SimplyBiz walks away with Parish accolade

SimplyBiz PLC is proud to announce that the SimplyBiz team has won the Isle of Man Parish Walk Charity Challenge 2010, the event was jointly organised by Scottish Widows and Money Marketing.

The ‘Are We There Yet?’ team consisted of Lisa Worthington, Rachel Stobbs and Kelita Crocker from SimplyBiz and Tim Elgar of Scottish Widows.

The overall 2010 winner Jock Waddington completed a hat-trick of consecutive wins and completed the 85-mile course in a personal best time of 15 hours, 18 minutes.

The SimplyBiz team walked a total of 152 miles between them in less than 24 hours to raise money for the Macmillan Nurses Charity, the team walked in memory of former Managing Director Ian Thorneycroft who sadly lost his brave battle with cancer in May 2010. The SimplyBiz team has managed to raise £1,699.99 so far.

Lisa Worthington says: “Ian Thorneycroft, the former managing director of SimplyBiz, sadly died from cancer a short while ago. Macmillan was his chosen charity, so the Scottish Widows Parish Walk had a special meaning for our team.”
