27/05/2008 - Branson works his magic as SimplyBiz celebrate success

SimplyBiz Chairman Ken Davy and Managing Director Ian Thorneycroft celebrated their company’s success in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 listings alongside Richard Branson and other business luminaries this week. A conference and awards dinner was held in the grounds of Branson’s house to mark the 11^th year of the Fast Track 100 listings which are sponsored by Virgin Money. The awards recognise the top 100 fastest growing private companies in Britain and SimplyBiz were delighted to be placed sixth from across the UK and the highest ranked company in the business support and financial services sectors. The Huddersfield based provider of compliance and business support for financial services intermediaries also narrowly missed out on scooping the award for Best Use of Technology, for which they were short-listed alongside Liv-ex and innocent (the eventual winner of the category).

During the evening, Branson entertained guests with magic tricks, including tutoring Ian Thorneycroft in the art of hypnotising and removing the wrist watch his of fellow diners without their knowledge - so he’s a magician in more than just business!

Thorneycroft commented:
