23/09/2008 - SimplyBiz Announces Price Freeze
When Simply Biz launched in 2002 their Chairman Ken Davy publicly vowed that their combination of high quality service and low cost would ‘light a fire under the Financial Services sector’. Having succeeded in building Simply Biz to over 2000 firms he is now calling for the ‘big freeze’. Simply Biz have today announced the freezing of their membership costs in 2009.
Commenting on the move Mr Davy said, ‘After a challenging year for the sector we have just experienced the most Earth shattering seven days in the history of Financial Services and so we want to make a really positive statement and bring some good news to our member firms. Despite the past year of uncertainty, most of the firms we serve are continuing to do really well but controlling costs has never been more important. Our charges would have risen by 5% in January, but as we recognise the importance of managing costs at this particularly turbulent time we wanted to do something very positive to support our member firms. Our decision to freeze prices ensures that membership of Simply Biz will cost no more next year than in 2008 and will benefit both existing and new members’.
Managing Director Ian Thorneycroft added ‘We provide our compliance and business support services to around 5000 advisers so this was an extremely important decision for us to make. We have in the past always tried to save our members money, for example by providing complementary, compliance approved websites and Free Aequos licences, but this is the first time we have made a direct bottom line commitment to help them keep their business costs low in difficult market conditions’.
