30/12/2008 - Survey Reveals Huge Exam Take Up at SimplyBiz Firms

A survey of 2089 SimplyBiz Advisers registered with the New Model Business Academy has revealed that they are already planning to take over 2,400 CII Examinations in 2009.

This is an addition to the almost 25% of advisers within SimplyBiz firms who have achieved Diploma level or above, including 250 who are already qualified to Chartered or Advanced Diploma level.

Commenting on the results, Chairman of SimplyBiz, Ken Davy said

“We are well known for being right behind the drive for increased professionalism and through the New Model Business Academy we are now able to deliver practical support to the advisers we serve and help them achieve their personal career goals.

If we project these figures across the whole of the SimplyBiz membership, it is clear that collectively they will be taking around 6,000 CII Examinations in the coming months. These are really impressive and exciting numbers, which are certain to grow still further as each exam is passed and the individual moves on to the next level”

Launched by SimplyBiz last May the New Model Business Academy is a unique ‘Not for Profit’ initiative designed to meet the needs of both today’s and tomorrows IFA’s through enhanced professionalism and the development of forward thinking business models.

Adding a note of Caution Ken Davy said

“Whilst it is tremendous that so many advisors are taking the exam route to professionalism it is equally vital that this does not blind us or the FSA to the need for a work based qualification for many practitioners. Work based qualifications or some sort of supervised transition arrangements remain essential if the move to the new world is not to be the forever stained by the unnecessary demise of a great many highly experienced Financial Advisers”
